Vercel webhook

Failed (and optionally successful) deployments from Vercel.

Setup

  1. In Vercel open your team Settings, then Webhooks (Pro and Enterprise teams), and choose Add a webhook.
  2. Select Deployment Error, and Deployment Succeeded if you want success alerts, then choose the projects.
  3. Paste a placeholder URL if you have to; Vercel shows the secret only once, after creation. Copy that secret.
  4. In PingLoom open Webhooks, choose New webhook source, pick Vercel, paste the secret, choose the events and create it. Copy the endpoint URL.
  5. Edit the Vercel webhook (or create it again) so its endpoint URL is the PingLoom URL. Deploy something to test it.

Verification

Vercel sends an x-vercel-signature header that is the hex HMAC-SHA1 of the raw request body, keyed with the secret Vercel shows when you create the webhook. SHA-1 is what Vercel documents and PingLoom follows it. Vercel signs no timestamp, so PingLoom uses the event id to drop repeats.

Events

You choose which events become alerts when you create the source, and you can change it later on the source page.

PingLoom keeps the project name, target (production or staging), deployment host and the Vercel dashboard link.
