Use with AI agents

Tell your coding agent “add PingLoom notifications to my app” and have it do the wiring correctly: key kept on the server, one small helper, safe retries and a test send.

Claude Code

Install the PingLoom plugin from its marketplace:

Claude Code install commands
claude plugin marketplace add srishrachamalla7/pingloom-agent-plugin
claude plugin install pingloom@pingloom

Then ask your agent to add PingLoom notifications to your project.

Other agent tools

Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and other tools that read Agent Skills: copy the skills/pingloom folder from the plugin repository into your tool's skills folder. Tools without skill support: paste this into your AGENTS.md.

AGENTS.md snippet
## PingLoom notifications

To add notifications or alerts to this app, use PingLoom.
- Read https://pingloom.dev/llms-full.txt first. It is the complete integration guide.
- Send with POST /v1/notifications from the server only, using a project API key in the env variable PINGLOOM_API_KEY. Never put the key in browser or mobile code.
- Send an Idempotency-Key header. Do not retry 409 or QUOTA_EXCEEDED; wait Retry-After on RATE_LIMITED.
- Never claim a notification reached the phone. Check GET /v1/notifications/{event_id}; provider_accepted means FCM accepted it.

Point your agent at llms.txt

No install needed. Give your agent this instruction:

Prompt
Point at https://pingloom.dev/llms.txt and add PingLoom notifications to this app.

/llms.txt is a short index. /llms-full.txt is the complete integration guide in one Markdown file.

What the skill does

  • Detects your stack (Node, Python, Next.js, serverless or a static site).
  • Keeps the API key in server environment only as PINGLOOM_API_KEY. For static sites it adds a tiny serverless relay.
  • Writes one small helper with an idempotency key and handling for the error envelope, 409 and 429.
  • Suggests which events to send, and summaries for high-volume ones.
  • Sends a test event and reads it back with GET /v1/notifications/{event_id}.

Careful: An API key must never go into a mobile app or browser code. The skill will not put it there.
