Tally webhook
New Tally form submissions, with up to five answers you choose.
Setup
- In PingLoom open Webhooks, choose New webhook source, pick Tally and create it. Copy the endpoint URL and the signing secret. The secret is shown once.
- In Tally open your form, then Integrations, Webhooks, and connect a webhook.
- Paste the PingLoom URL as the Endpoint URL, switch on Signing secret and paste the PingLoom secret.
- On the PingLoom source page, under Questions to include in the alert, type up to five question titles exactly as they appear in your form.
- Submit the form once. The request appears under Recent requests on the PingLoom source page.
Verification
Tally sends a Tally-Signature header, the base64 HMAC-SHA256 of the request body, keyed with the signing secret you set on the webhook. Tally signs no timestamp; PingLoom uses the Tally event id to drop repeats. Tally's documentation computes the hash over the parsed JSON rather than naming the raw bytes, so PingLoom checks the raw body, which matches when Tally sends compact JSON. If your test delivery is rejected as an invalid signature, tell us.
Events
You choose which events become alerts when you create the source, and you can change it later on the source page.
| Event | Priority | On by default |
|---|---|---|
| New form response | normal | Yes |
With no questions listed, the alert carries only the form name. Answers that look like an email address or phone number are always dropped, and email, phone, file and signature fields are never read.
